Well, for starters my name is Tom Schloendorn. I live in Southern NJ. I’ve been reading/collecting comics for the last 15 years or so.
Originally, I started out wanting to be a penciler but, have chosen to ink since I find the medium a lost art of sorts. When you look at the great inkers from the past they compliment the pencils so well that you almost don’t know they were there.
I have been inking religiously for the past year or so and now have had some accomplishments come about, one of which is with Rich Molinelli, a penciler for SHIFT. Also, I did get the opportunity to ink Rich’s work for the Avatar Anthology, a piece called, The Thing You Don’t See.
I am currently working with some independents in conjunction with Ronin Studios and had the chance to ink the cover for Ronin Illustrated that was out for the Chicago Wizard World 2004 also; SHIFT #1 was done and available at the same convention.
One of my goals is to publish my own project, which shall remain nameless for various reasons, with my long time friend and co-creator Vince Mondile. Vince is the one who got me reading comic books in the first place.
Along with my own project I would really like to have the opportunity to one day ink Ghost Rider, Guardians of the Galaxy, or Moon Knight as these were the first few books that I read and had an influence on me to become an artist.
So, quite few thousand comic books later (thanks Vince) in my collection, I know this is what my passion truly is. When I am not chained to my art studio you can find me hanging out with my wife, Carolyn and our son, Jace.
